Investing in the digital infrastructure that is transforming society
The Berkshire Partners Digital Infrastructure (DI) strategy leverages the firm’s 25 years of deep experience in communications to invest in middle market businesses within the shared wireless access, data center & cloud, and network infrastructure segments.
Our firm’s DI investments have spanned four continents and we have used a range of investment structures including majority acquisitions, growth equity investments, and joint ventures to help management teams meet their objectives.
We have a team of highly experienced investment professionals in each of our three targeted sub-sectors. Our senior team members have been investing together for 12 years and have a unique combination of strategic, financial, and operational experience.
We believe that our firm has developed a distinctive culture based on the principle that great results come from teams that embrace collaboration. Collectively, our firm’s three strategies – Digital Infrastructure, Private Equity, and Stockbridge – benefit from knowledge-sharing, combined experiences, and broader industry networks intended to identify more investment opportunities, inform better investment decisions, and generate enhanced outcomes.

Targeting an Asymmetric Risk/Return Profile
We seek to invest in companies with limited downside risk and strong growth potential. There are three key areas where we believe downside protection exists, and these include: durable assets such as “mission critical” infrastructure, areas with low technology risk which includes a focus on the basic foundations of digital networks, and predictable, recurring revenue from resilient operating companies.
On the growth potential side, we focus on two primary areas: industry tailwinds and the megatrends that are driving exponential growth and untapped value creation potential which has the opportunity to unlock upside initiatives.
