Boston, Massachusetts, January 5, 2015 — Berkshire Partners LLC, the Boston-based investment firm, announced today that Dave Bordeau, Marni Payne and Raleigh Shoemaker were appointed Managing Directors effective January 1, 2015.  They join the 19 current Managing Directors of Berkshire in managing the firm and its affiliated investment funds.  Berkshire’s 22 Managing Directors have an average tenure of over 16 years with the firm. 

Mr. Bordeau joined Berkshire Partners in 2006 and has significant experience with Berkshire’s consumer products, retail and business services companies.  Prior to joining Berkshire, Mr. Bordeau worked in private equity and investment banking, holding positions with Ripplewood Holdings and Gleacher Partners.  He received an A.B. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Ms. Payne originally joined Berkshire Partners in 2000 as an Associate and returned to Berkshire in 2004 after graduating from business school.  Ms. Payne has worked extensively with Berkshire’s consumer products and retailing companies.  Prior to joining Berkshire, Ms. Payne was a business analyst at McKinsey & Co.  She received a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Shoemaker joined Berkshire Partners in 2006 with the primary focus of coordinating Berkshire’s business development activities.  Mr. Shoemaker became Director of Investor Relations in 2013 and now focuses his efforts on Berkshire’s relationships with its limited partners.  Prior to Berkshire, Mr. Shoemaker held various roles at Sterling Capital Management, Audax Group, Bain & Co. and Bowles, Hollowell, Conner & Co.  He received an A.B. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Berkshire’s investment staff is comprised of investment professionals who have a broad range of backgrounds and experiences, including operations, consulting and finance.  The original team, which came together in the mid-1980s, has expanded significantly as the firm’s capital base and investment scope have grown.
