Javier joined Berkshire Partners as an Industry Advisor in 2020 and is CEO of El Dorado Foods™, a multi-category platform to acquire and develop innovative Latin-inspired food and beverage brands. Previously, Javier served as the CEO of Mission Foods, the largest subsidiary of Gruma S.A.B. de C.V. and the leading producer of fresh and authentic tortillas and other Mexican food products.

Earlier in his career, Javier held other leadership positions at Gruma and served as CEO of Nacional Monte de Piedad, the oldest financial institution in Mexico. Javier serves on the Executive Board of SMU Dedman College and was formerly a member of the Boards of Directors of Gruma and Banorte.

Industry Advisors are business executives or industry experts well known to Berkshire who participate in specific activities that arise in their areas of expertise, including deal origination, due diligence investigation, investment deliberation and portfolio company advisory services.
