Boston, MA, January 8, 2021 — Berkshire Partners today announced that Matt Berner has been appointed Managing Director, effective January 1, 2021. Matt is an investment professional with Stockbridge, the public equity affiliate of Berkshire, and he joins the 24 current Managing Directors across the firm and its affiliated investment funds.

Matt joined Berkshire Partners in 2007. He returned to the firm in 2012 following his graduation from Harvard Business School. As a member of the Stockbridge team since that time, he has developed experience in communications infrastructure, digital marketplaces and financial services and technology.

The firm also announced that Ed Casserley and Chris Comenos have been promoted to Principal on the Berkshire Private Equity team. Ed joined Berkshire Partners in 2013 and returned in 2017 following his graduation from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the firm’s Communications industry team. Chris also joined the firm in 2013 and returned in 2017 following his graduation from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Healthcare industry team.
